Tournament Rules 
  • Format: 5v5
    • Qualifiers - Single Elimination, Best of 1 (BO1)
    • Finals (Top 8) - Single Elimination, Best of 3 (BO3)

  • Requirements:
    • The software used is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Steam Version)
    • Each team must present 1 (one) representative. He/ she is responsible for his/her team and will be responsible for choosing maps and all communication with referees must be done through the team captain.
    • Tournament is only open to residents / citizens of South Africa residing in South Africa
  • Others:
    • There will be no warm up games
    • Players may not delay the start of a match and will be disqualified from participating.
    • Players will not receive a second chance after the match has started.
    • Teaming during the match is considered cheating.
    • The tournament will be played with the following rule set:
      • Rounds: 30 Rounds (Fifteen as each side[Terrorists & Counter-Terrorists])
      • Victory Conditions: The first team to win 16 rounds wins the map and the round is over immediately.
      • Each individual round is 1:45 in duration
      • Starting side will be chosen by a knife round.
      • In case of a tie after the regulation rounds end (15-15), 6 extra rounds will be played. 3 rounds as Terrorists and 3 rounds as Counter-Terrorists. First team to win 4 rounds wins the map. [Repeat if necessary]
      • Extra rounds restart money: $10,000
      • The first team to win 16 rounds will be declared the victor of the match and will advance
      • The map each team will play will be picked through a map veto.
      • No outside applications / executables / dll’s / workshop items, read _ANY_ method of gaining an advantage over the other team is allowed.
      • Players not ready within 15 minutes (outside technical issues handled by an NWES TO) of their match will forfeit that match.
    • Maps will be decided through a veto system.

General Rules 

HOW TO ENTER:

  • All registering participants must complete the registration form.
  • All participant (s) must ensure they provide correct information upon registration.
  • All participant (s) must enter their In-game ID.
  • A Participant (s) s must not change their In-game ID after registering.
  • Duplicates and incorrect registration will result in an incomplete registration and not eligible to participate.
  • Any participant (s) found playing in the tournament but is not registered is automatically disqualified.
  • Incredible Connection reserves the right to refuse any participant registration if their registration is incorrect / incomplete.

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY:

For entrants under the age of 18, parental consent is required to participate in any of the tournaments. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of a Participant (including but not limited to a participant’s identity and age) and to reject any Participant who has not complied with these terms and conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s sole discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Number of Entries per Participant: One entry per person/team per tournament.

Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to participate in this Tournament

PRIZES:

  • Prize pools may vary from tournament to tournament. You are required to familiarize yourself with the applicable point system and rules for each of the tournaments you will be participating in available at www.play.incredible.co.za.
  • Tournament winners will receive confirmation of their winnings 48 working hours after the tournament has been concluded.
  • Winners will be contacted within 1 week after the confirmation has been sent to provide contact information with a valid South African proof of identification, phone number, and delivery address.
  • Winners will have 45 days to claim their prize. Incredible Connection reserve the right to forfeit the prize if these details are not received within 45 days of tournament completion.
  • Prizes will be distributed within 60 days after the tournament has concluded.
  • Prizes will be given in the form of MasterCard vouchers.

MasterCard Gift Card Terms and Conditions

The Gift Card may not be:

Exchanged for cash; or used for the payment of an account; used in conjunction with any other reward and no cash change will be given on purchases made with the Gift Card.

You are responsible for the safekeeping of your Gift Card. Keep your Gift Card in a safe place as; if stolen, it may still be used to make purchases. Lost or Stolen Gift Cards will not be replaced or refunded.

GENERAL:

  • The Promoter reserves the right to amend, modify, cancel or withdraw any aspect of this Tournament in its sole discretion at any time without prior notice or liability. The Promoter cannot guarantee the performance of any third party and shall not be liable for any act or default by a third party. Participants of this Tournament agree that the Promoter will, subject to prevailing law, have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, costs, damage or disappointment of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from acceptance, misuse or use of the Prize, or from participation in this Tournament.
  • The laws of the Republic of South Africa govern this Tournament. If any provision or part of these Promotion Rules is deemed void or otherwise unenforceable in law, then that provision or part shall be deemed excluded and the remainder of these Tournament Rules shall remain in force. Any violation of these Tournament Rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressing Participant from the Tournament.
  • The Promoters decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Insufficient knowledge of the rules cannot be used as an excuse for breaking the rules.
  • Participation in this Tournament will constitute acceptance of the changed rules, instructions and guidance.
  • No liability shall lie on the Promoter in favour of any Participant, Winner (s) and/or third party arising from cancellation, suspension or termination. Therefore, the Participant waives any and all rights which they may have against the Promoter and hereby acknowledges that they will have no right of recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against the Promoter.

  • All participant (s) must agree to these rules in order to participate in the tournament.

PARTICIPATION: 

  • Participant (s) Names: A participant (s) gamer tag or in-game nickname may not include any word or phrase in any language that is offensive, toxic, or hurtful. Tournament Officials reserve the right to reject any registration if participant (s) refuse to change their Gamertag.
  • Team Logos: Tournament organizers reserves the right to edit any logos that break the following rules:
    • Has resemblance or are identical to any brand or trademark that they do not own
    • Is protected by third-party rights and no written permission to use
    • Trying to imitate a real person other than themselves
  • All team logos submitted will be treated as final and require no change.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:

  • Tournament Officials reserves the right to decide outside or even against the rulebook in special cases to guarantee fair play.
  • Matches: Matches will start as scheduled, unless Tournament Admins say otherwise. All participants must be ready 15 minutes prior to the start of the match.
  • Delays: Participant (s) may not delay any matches without the consent of a Tournament Official. Participant (s) can request an Official to enforce a 5 minute timer.
  • Lag: As the game is hosted on dedicated servers, replays will not be issued for lag.
  • Disputes: In order to dispute game results, participants must notify a Tournament Official.
  • Purposely Disconnecting: Any participant that has disconnected from the game without reconnecting, with the intention to get a remake of the game, will get a loss by default.
  • Personal Streaming: Participants are not allowed to stream their games without any form of consent from Tournament Officials. If found streaming, participants will be asked to stop and take down the stream.
  • Load Shedding & unplanned power outages: The Promoter and Organizers are not responsible for and cannot be held liable for disconnecting or not being able to play during / before / after the match. The match will be considered as a forfeit.
  • Complaining about losing a game incorrectly after a match cannot be taken into account in the final outcome of a match. If there are reasons to suspect that your opponent is not playing by the rules or serious lag occurs for a long time, report this to the admin before your opponent has taken advantage of the problem. (The beginning of the game.)
  • Match Procedures
    1. Match Start / Punctuality – All matches should   start as stated on the tournament schedule. Any  changes of the time must be accepted by the Tournament Admins. All Teams and Players in a match should be on the server and ready to go at the latest fifteen (15)minutes before the start of the match.
    2. Request a New Game Server – Teams must report game server issues no later than five (5) minutes before the scheduled start time of the match. Failure to do so will forfeit a Team’s right to request a game server change at the Tournament Admin’s discretion
  • Game Specific Rules
    1. Game version – The tournament will use the latest available version of the game client.
    2. Anti-Cheat – Tournament servers will be VAC enabled and will require VAC enabled clients. If a player is VAC banned then they are not allowed to take part in a match.
  • Map Pool
    1. The Tournament will use the current competitive map pool (Valve Active Duty Map Group) which consists of the following maps:
      1. Ancient
      2. Mirage
      3. D2
      4. Nuke
      5. Vertigo
      6. Inferno
      7. Overpass
  • Match Settings and Information
    1. Matches are played in a Best of Five format
    2. The following match settings will be used during the tournament:
      1. Rounds: Best out of 30
      2. Round time: 1 minute 55 seconds
      3. Start money: $800
      4. Freeze time: 20 seconds
      5. Buy time: 20 seconds
      6. Bomb timer: 40 seconds
      7. Overtime rounds: best out of 6
      8. Overtime start money: $16,000
      9. Round restart delay 5 seconds
      10. Break during half time: 2 minutes 30 seconds
      11. Break during half time in overtimes: disabled
    3. Overtimes – In case of a draw after all 30 rounds have been played, an overtime will be played in   best out of 6 mode (mp_maxrounds 6) and with $16,000 start money (mp_startmoney 16000). For the start of the overtime teams will stay on the side which  they played the previous half on, during half-time sites will be swapped. Teams will continue to play overtime until a winner has been found.
    4. Match server – Matches are played on the official CS: GO servers. Teams are required to check all the necessary game aspects (including skins, bugs on load etc.) and network components (latency and server variance) before starting the match. Failure to do so, and to let the match start, will mean that both teams have accepted the state the map is in, and the match might be continued under these conditions.
    5. In-Game chat – It is not allowed to write about things that are not directly related to the match in the  in-game chat. This is including but not limited to discussion of the technical issues and any sort of advertisement.
    6. Usage of pause function
      1. Technical Pause – If a player has a problem that prevents him from playing on, he is allowed to use the pause function. The technical pause function can be called by typing “.tech” or “.technical”. The player has to announce the reason before or immediately  after he paused the match. During a technical pause, headsets have to stay on. Unless the referee instructs the match participant otherwise any form of communication including but not limited to text and voice communication between players and coaches is forbidden during a technical pause
      2. Timeout – Each team is allowed to invoke a timeout (tactical pause) of 30 seconds up to four times per map. Timeouts can be called via the in-game vote system (ESC → Call Vote → Call Tactical Timeout). Teams are allowed to take all four timeouts at once by  calling them all individually once the previous timeout expires. Teams will not be given additional timeouts in the overtimes, but the unused timeouts can still be used in overtime.
      3. Admin Pause – The admin can pause the game from his station or from a player station, when it is required. If for some reason the player pausing does not work, they have to request the admin to do it.
    7. Configuration files – ll configuration changes are allowed as long as they do not give an unfair edge or  advantage comparable to cheating. A player may be penalized for wrong settings in any config file, regardless if it is in use, or even stored in the game folder in question. The following commands are forbidden:
      1. cl_showpos 1 –the value needs to be set to 0.
      2. Teams are required to contact the tournament administration if they are unsure on the validity of a command and its value. A team may be penalized for having forbidden commands in their configuration file, regardless if it was in use.
    8. Scripts – All  scripts are illegal  except for buy, toggle,  demo scripts. A team may  be penalized for having forbidden scripts in their configuration file, regardless if it was in use.
    9. Graphics drivers – Any modification or changing of the game using external graphics solutions or other 3rd party programs are strictly prohibited and may be punished under the cheating paragraph.
    10. Overlays – All kinds of overlays which will show the usage rate of the system in any way in-game  (e.g. Nvidia SLI display, Rivatuner Overlay) is forbidden. Overlays which will show only the frames per second (FPS) are not forbidden and can be used.
    11. Custom Data – Players are not allowed to use any form of custom game files during the official matches. Only CS: GO skins are allowed to be changed. Any other changes, including but not limited to modification  of sprites, HUDs, scoreboards, crosshairs are strictly disallowed.
  • Match Procedures
    1. Match Breaks – Teams will have at least 10 minutes of a break between matches and 8 minutes between maps. The exact times will be communicated by the tournament administration. There are no breaks at half times.
    2. Number of Players – All  matches have to be played  with five players per team (5vs5),  other constellations are not allowed. If a team fails to show up with enough players, the match will count as a no-show.
    3. Change of Players – Only players that are part of the team can be substituted in. The opposing team and tournament administration has to be informed beforehand.
    4. Change procedure – Lineup  changes are only allowed  in between maps. The player will not receive additional time to set up compared to the time it would have taken with the original player.
    5. Match Interruptions – If a match is interrupted for reasons beyond the control of the participants (e.g. server or player crash), the tournament administration will restore the round using the CSGO’s backup & restore feature, but in some scenarios may decide to replay the round or even a whole match.
      1. If  the issue  takes place  during the first  minute of the round,  before any damage has occurred  and the opponent or referee has  been immediately notified, the round will be restored.
      2. If the issue takes place during a round and after the damage has been made and the outcome of the round can still be determined (e.g. a single player has  dropped but others remain), then the round will not be replayed or restored. The round will continue to be played and will count. Special exceptions  can be made if the damage dealt was ruled insignificant e.g. accidental teammate damage dealt at the start of the round or damage dealt to the opposing side by the team that was affected by the crash.
      3. If the issue takes place during the  round, after damage has occurred and the outcome of the round cannot be determined (e.g. due to server crash), the match will be restored to the beginning of the round.
      4. If the issue takes place during the  round, after damage has occurred and the  outcome of the round is obvious (e.g.  one team is saving with 10 seconds remaining), but it cannot be continued due to for example a server crash, then the round can be awarded.
    6. The matches will not be stopped and/or rounds will not be restored or replayed in cases where it is clearly a participant’s fault (e.g. mis-buying a weapon).
  • Use of Bugs and Glitches
    1. The intentional use of any bugs, glitches, or errors in the game is forbidden. It is up to the admins discretion whether or not the use of said bugs had an effect on the match, and whether or not he will award rounds, or the match to the opposing team, or to force a rematch. The usage of the following bugs is strictly forbidden, if any bug is used which is not listed here it is up to the admins discretion whether or not a punishment is necessary.
      1. Moving through clipped areas where the movement is not intended by the design of the map is strictly forbidden (any walls, ceilings, floors etc).
      2. The  bomb may  not be planted  in a location where  it cannot be defused. Planting the bomb in such a way that no one can hear the beeping sound or the planting sound is also forbidden.
      3. Standing  on top of  teammates is  generally allowed,  it is only forbidden, when such actions allow the player to peek over, under and/or through a solid object (e.g. wall, box, ceiling) that should not be allowed according to map design.
      4. Pixel walking is forbidden. A player will be considered to be pixel walking if they sit or stand on invisible pixels on the map, where there is no visible edge.
    2. It  is recommended  to check with tournament administration whether or not a certain bug or glitch is considered illegal.
    3. The following bugs are explicitly allowed:
      1. Defusing the bomb through walls and items etc.
      2. So called “surfing” on tubes
  • Misconduct
    1. The attempt to mislead admins or other players, using false information, or in any other way deceive other players or teams may result in a permanent or temporary ban
      1. Cheating – When  cheating is discovered the Team will be disqualified from the tournament. The  use of the following programs will result in a cheat ban:  
        1. Multihacks
        2. Wallhack
        3. Aimbot
        4. Colored   Models
        5. No-Recoil
        6. No-Flash   and Sound changes.
        7. These are only examples, other  programs or methods may be  considered cheats as well.

EQUIPMENT:

  • The tournament will be limited to the PC platform only. Game controllers are allowed.
  • Hardware / Software issues: Each participant is responsible for his own connection and has to have a good internet connection to avoid possible ‘lag’.
  • Any hardware or software issues from any participant (s) must be fixed before the start of the match. Any lag or connection issues will not be entertained by the tournament Admins.

GRANT OF RIGHTS:

  • All participants who register agree to receive marketing communication and newsletter from Incredible Connection.
  • Each participant grants the Promoter permission to live stream, broadcast or record his or her gameplay at any Tournament. Participants further grants Incredible Connection a royalty-free, fully paid-up, worldwide right and license (with the right to grant sublicenses) to publish, distribute, use and display his or her full name, photograph, image, avatar, voice, video, game play statistics, and biographical information, and create works of the foregoing items, in all present and future media, in connection with (a) the broadcast or streaming of any coverage of all or any part of a Tournament; (b) the marketing and promotion of any Official Competition or any Tournament or part thereof; and (c) the marketing and promotion of the Tournament.
  • Tournament-Related Events: All participants agree to participate in: (1) live stream interviews, (2) Video shoots, (3) other media events that Incredible Connection will organize for promotional purposes. The promoter shall have the right to sanction or disqualify any participant or Team that fails to attend and participate fully in any scheduled Media Event.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

  • Discriminatory names, including but not limited to any language regarding ethnicity, nationality, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation is not allowed at all.
  • High Standards for Professionals: All participants must observe the highest standards of personal integrity and good sportsmanship at all times. Participants must behave in a professional and sportsmanship manner in their interactions with other participants, Tournament Officials and Tournament Organizers.
  • Competitive Integrity: All participants are expected to compete to the best of their ability at all times in this tournament.
  • Disqualifications: Any violation of these General Rules may result in disqualification. All decisions made by the Tournament Organizers and Tournament Officials in regard to violations of these General Rules are final and binding.

PROHIBITED CONDUCT:

  • Collusion: Any form of collusion is prohibited.
    • Example of collusion is: Purposely losing a Tournament Game for compensation, or for any other reason, or attempting to induce another participant to do so.
  • Cheating: The use of any kind of cheating device or program is considered as cheating, and may result in a ban and other penalties.
  • Exploiting: Intentionally using any in-game bug to seek an advantage is exploiting. Making use of any game function that is not functioning as intended is also exploiting.
  • Ringing: Playing under another participant’s account, or soliciting someone else to play under another participant’s account.
  • Vulgar: Participants may not use any language that is offensive, insulting, obscene, threatening, and foul. This rule applies to speech in English, and all other languages.
  • Drugs and Alcohol: Use, distribution of drugs or alcohol, or being under the influence of controlled substances, is strictly prohibited while a participant is engaged in any Tournament. Prescription drugs may only be used to treat the condition for which they are prescribed and may not be used to enhance performance in a Tournament Game.
  • Gambling: Participants are not allowed to place, or attempt to place bets on any Tournament Games.

UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR:

  • Harassment: Any form of harassment is prohibited. Harassment is defined as hostile and repeated acts taking place over a period of time.
  • Sexual Harassment: Sexual Harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances. The assessment is based on whether the person being harassed would regard the conduct as offensive. There is zero tolerance for any sexual threats or the promise of advantages in exchange for sexual favours.
  • Discrimination and Denigration: Participants may not offend the dignity or integrity of a country, person or group of people through discriminatory or denigrating words or actions on account of race, skin color, ethnic, national or social origin, gender, language, religion, political opinion, financial status, birth, sexual orientation or any other reason.
  • Confidentiality: Without the consent of the Tournament Organizer, a participant may not disclose any confidential information provided by the Tournament Organizer to the participant in relation to any Official Competition. Participants shall be obligated to keep information provided by the Tournament Organizer confidential.
  • Illegal Activity: Participants must comply with all applicable laws at all times. Participants may not engage in any activity which is in violation with laws, regulations or public security administration rules.
  • Immoral Activity: Participants may not engage in any activity which, in the sole determination of the Tournament Organizer, is unethical, immoral or disgraceful.
  • Bribery: No participant may offer any gift or cash or other reward to a participant coach, manager, other participants, Tournament Official, the Tournament Organizer or any other person connected with or employed by another Team in order to influence the outcome of a Tournament Game.
  • Gifts: No Team Member may accept any gift, reward or compensation from another Team or participant (or anyone acting on their behalf).
  • Non-Compliance: No Team Member may refuse to comply with the instructions or decisions of the Tournament Organizer or Officials.
  • Match-Fixing: No Team Member may offer, agree, or conspire to fix a match or take any other action to intentionally and unfairly alter, or attempt to alter, the results of any Tournament Game. Match-fixing will be subject to maximum penalty in each instance. If a Team Member is asked to “fix” the outcome of a Tournament Game or to otherwise take part in any actions prohibited by these General Rules or the applicable Competition-Specific Rules that Team Member must immediately report this request to the Tournament Organizer.
  • Document Submission: Parental consents, and other documentation may be required at various times by the Tournament Organizer. A Team Member violates these General Rules if he or she knowingly provides inaccurate information to the Tournament Organizer. A Team may be subject to sanctions if the documentation is not complete.
  • Drop Outs and Refusals to Participate: If a Team Member or Team registers for, or agrees to participate in, any Official Competition, he or she may not, without the prior written consent of the Tournament Organizer, drop out or refuse to participate in any Tournament Game.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION AND SANCTIONS

  • Investigations by the Tournament Organizers: The Tournament Organizer will have the right to monitor compliance with these General Rules and the applicable Competition-Specific Rules and investigate possible breaches. By agreeing to these General Rules, each participant agrees to cooperate with the Tournament Organizer in any internal or external investigation that the Tournament Organizer conducts relating to a suspected violation of these General Rules, the applicable Competition-Specific Rules or applicable law. Participants have a duty to tell the truth in connection with any investigation conducted by or for the Tournament Organizer and have a further duty not to obstruct any such investigation, mislead investigators or withhold evidence.
  • Sanctions: If the Tournament Organizer determines that a Team Member or a Team has committed a violations of these General Rules or the Registration Requirements, the Tournament Organizer may, in its reasonable discretion, issue any or all of the following disciplinary actions: (a) verbal or written public warning(s); (b) prize forfeiture; (c) game forfeiture; (d) Tournament forfeiture; (e) suspensions; and (f) disqualification and ban.
  • Repeated Infractions: Repeated infractions are subject to escalating penalties, up to and including disqualification from participation in Official Competitions.
  • Final Determination: Offenses and infringements of these General Rules and the applicable Competition rules are punishable, intentionally or not.
